There are individuals who do not seek to occupy space; they transform it.

Concha Barquero Artés was one of them.

A filmmaker, researcher, and professor, she consistently operated from a clear ethical framework: cinema not as mere spectacle, but as an instrument for memory, awareness, and social cohesion.

Those of us who knew her understand that her perspective was as rigorous and discreet as it was gentle and vital. Without clamour.

An initiative is currently underway for Rincón de la Victoria to dedicate a viewpoint in her memory. This is not a nostalgic gesture, but a permanent reminder that culture builds community.

I personally support this proposal, consistent with the commitment we uphold at Kripties Fundación and TransArte, because art is not decorative. It is structural.
